The performer is remote. You're the one actually in the room.

Charming Stranger is hiring a Stage Manager / on-site technician for the NYC installation of 1337, a one-on-one interactive phone experience presented as part of Odyssey Works' New Frame program. You're making sure the phone booth, the tech, and every participant's hour long performance runs smoothly while the performer works the line from somewhere else entirely.

[ WHAT THE ROLE INVOLVES ]

On-site for load-in, tech, all performances, and load-out (see dates below)
Setting up and maintaining the phone booth and its props: payphone, red box, notebook, pager, and resetting them between participants
Serving as the live tech bridge between the remote performer and the physical space: troubleshooting connectivity or audio issues in real time
Managing participant flow: greeting guests, running the queue, keeping performances on schedule
Acting as the on-site point of contact for Odyssey Works / New Frame venue staff
Assisting with load-in and load-out of the booth and all related equipment

[ WE'RE LOOKING FOR ]

Stage management experience: devised, immersive, or experimental theatre a strong plus
Comfort troubleshooting basic AV/phone/tech problems independently, without a remote assist standing by
Clear, calm communication with a remote creative team
A steady, unflappable presence with the public: you're often the first and only face a participant sees
Full availability for the on-site window below
Immersive theatre experience is a plus, not a requirement
